Better multilanguage support for Tablet PC
While multilanguage support has been available for the Tablet PC pretty much from Day One, its availablility was limited. It either came from an OEM or via a large-scale corporate licensing program. Today Microsoft announced a stand-alone release of the Tablet PC Recognizer Pack. This means that TPC users who use more than one language can simply intall other language modules, both for handwriting and for speech recognition. The pack includes an upgrade to the TIP (Tablet Input Panel). Handwriting recognition is available for US and UK English, French, German, Iberian Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and simplified and traditional Chinese. Speech recognition supports US and UK English, Japanese, and Chinese. The pack is available from Microsoft [Click here]. -- Posted Monday, September 15, 2003 by chb
