Panasonic introduces Toughbook CF-18
The Toughbook CF-18, announced February 24, is Panasonic's first Tablet PC-spec rugged computer. It is a rugged notebook convertible weighing just 4.4 pounds. The XGA 10.4-inch tilt-and-swivel display makes it possible to use the the device both as a notebook and as a pen slate. Panasonic claims up to 7.5 hours of battery life and offers a wide variety of wireless and other options. Price is expected to be in the US$3,200 range. -- Posted Monday, February 24, 2003 by chb

NEC Tablet PC
NEC formally introduced the NEC Versa LitePad Tablet PC. The LitePad, a prototype of which had been shown at last Falls' Comdex, is the thinnest (0.6 inches) and lightest (2.2 pounds) Tablet PC to-date.
